Honda - New Engine

MACHINING PROCESS FOR NEW ENGINE – GROB MACHINING CENTERS

This project comprises development of all the machining process, using Grob machining centers, to produce the new engine family for HONDA in Brazil, including new tool layout, new clamping fixtures and new CNC programs.
Besides Grob machining centers for the cylinder heads, HONDA also had special Rotary table transfer machines, called “TES” for the block. For those, AUT Sistemas developed new multi-spindle heads. Those multi-spindle heads presented quite a challenge, due to the complexity and precision required.
